Why I built it

I just wanted to send an invoice from my phone.

That was the whole idea. A simple way to do invoices, estimates and quotes, and download the documents straight from my phone, without wrestling a spreadsheet on a tiny screen.

Then it snowballed. A document needed client details, so I added clients. Clients needed a pipeline. The money needed a finance view. Before long I had built the back office I actually wanted to run my studio on, so I decided to develop it properly and put it in other people's hands.

Since then I've built it into multiple industries, each one re-skinned so the labels, documents and templates speak that trade's language. If yours isn't there yet, tell me what you do and we'll make one for you.

Business OS is an add-on to the websites I build, and a product you can buy on its own. Either way the files are yours, hosted on your domain, no subscription.

Having a site made? Add Business OS at checkout and I wire it into your build, branded and ready, so you launch with a working back office on day one. It is a tick-box on my quote calculator ($799).

Added to your existing site

Already have a website, anywhere? Business OS drops into any cPanel or shared host as a private admin area. Keep your current site exactly as it is, and run the business behind it from one login.

Pick a client and a branded PDF fills itself in: proposals, estimates and price lists, deposit and tax invoices and receipts, service agreements and care plan terms, client briefs, scope checklists and completion certificates. How it's made

Hand-coded to be owned, not rented.

No accounts to log into, no database to install, no subscription that creeps up every year. Business OS is a handful of plain files you drop onto any cPanel or shared host. View the source. It's yours.

Plain files

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, a little PHP and JSON. That's the whole stack. Upload by FTP and it runs, no build step, no Node, no Docker.

Your data, synced

Clients, documents and invoices live in JSON on your own server, and sync across your phone and desktop. Nothing phones home. Back the lot up as one zip, move it, keep it forever.

Re-skins for any trade

Pick an industry and your colours and every label, document and template re-words itself: bathrooms, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, building and more.

Questions

Everything you're probably wondering.

Do I need to be technical to use it?

No. If you can fill in a form and click a button, you can run it. On the Studio plan I set it up for you. On Solo it is a drag-and-drop upload to your host with a short guide.

Where does my data live? Is it safe?

On your own hosting, in plain JSON files behind a password. Nothing is sent to me or any third party. You can back everything up by downloading one zip.

What if my trade isn't one you've built yet?

Tell me what you do and I'll re-skin it for your trade, so the labels, documents and templates speak your language. That's included in setup.

Do I have to host it with you?

No. It runs on any standard cPanel or shared host. If you already have a website anywhere, it drops in beside it as a private admin area.

What happens when the beta ends?

Nothing changes for you. Beta means I'm still adding to it while running my own studio on it. You keep the files you bought, and updates are free for 12 months.

Can it work on my phone?

Yes. It's built to run on a phone, which is the whole reason it exists, so you can send an invoice or check a client from anywhere.

What if something breaks?

Genuine build faults are fixed free. Solo includes 12 months of updates. Studio adds priority support. After that, help is hourly or covered by a care plan.

Can I move it or cancel?

It's yours, so there's nothing to cancel. Move it to another host any time by copying the files. No lock-in.
